All Out Attack - The Tavern, Blyth. Sunday 14th April 2019

Thought a reboot/reactivation of this blog was well overdue..... so here we go:

Posting this a bit late but hey ho….

Went down to The Tavern in Blyth a couple of Sundays ago to catch up with the most tremendous All Out Attack. Purveyors of all things hard and gritty in a Street Punk world.

Early doors as ever here on a Sunday, so no moaning from the ‘can’t go out on a school night’ brigade!

First up were a band I’d never seen before, Bare Roots, it being their first ever gig (apparently?) might help explain why. Not bad for a first off lads!! Seems they’re hitting the ground running these lot though and have a fair few up n coming gigs including their very own headliner at Newcastle O2 Academy no less! (Someone let me know if I’ve got this info wrong).

Great to see Adz, Daz and the lads from All Out Attack back on stage at the Tavern again (It’s been bloody ages!!) First time I've seen them with new bloke Sean on Bass and a most decent chap he is too, being a fellow photog helps of course haha!!

Great set from the lads (as ever) went down a treat with the most appreciative Taverners including (amongst many others) a suitably refreshed local artist and celeb Andy Treadwell, fellow artist and local punk rock legend Tony ‘Sewer Rat’ Houghton and Radio Northumberland’s svelte adonis Punky Paul himself, giving AOA a rousing reception. Tony went on to give himself a rousing reception as he ended the night on lead vocals on the band’s encore of Pretty Vacant, shadowed by a non singing guest backing vocalist?!!

Check out what the lads have got coming up over the next few months, including a nice support slot of their own at the O2 Newcastle in June supporting Ashington’s pop punksters LoGOz.

Great night and great to be back here on the Bog!!
